The Housing Authority of South Bend (HASB), established in 1941, is committed to providing decent, safe & sanitary housing to low-income families in the City of South Bend. HASB is proud to be a part of the South Bend community and has an assortment of Public Housing developments throughout the area. With many inviting communities, we are confident that one is the community that will make you feel right at home. HASB also administers funds through the Housing Choice Voucher program that allows low-income families the freedom to choose quality housing while maintaining rent payments they can afford. HASB also helps veterans with housing solutions to fit their needs. Currently over 2,698 households are served, more than 2,329 properties are owned by HASB and 87 veterans housed.

It is the mission of the Housing Authority of South Bend (HASB) to provide safe and affordable housing assistance to individuals and families in a manner that is respectful, professional, and service-oriented. The HASB is committed to maximize its existing resources and work in partnership with the community to assist residents in reaching individual and family goals, including those of self-sufficiency, through education, increasing employment, and homeownership opportunities.
